Stage Four is not a place for Lori and her family. Stage Four does not define her. She has experienced many stages in this journey including fear, faith, and love. In the face of fear, it is important for her to find as many smiles and as much laughter as she can. Sometimes her loved ones carry her through the fight, and sometimes she carries them. It’s a journey full of ups and downs that must and should be taken together.
Lori’s daughter Angi shares, “My Dad is the Rock of the Famiglia, always has been. After forty-seven years of owning the Marinnaci Medical labs, he retired and fourteen hours later has a new chapter (which) God has given him: my mom’s cancer. Life can turn on a dime, but never once . . . in 1,083 days have I ever heard my parents ask “Why me? Why us?
My noble Mom told me that she thanks God daily that IF cancer had to hit our Family . . .(that) it wasn’t Dad or her children or her grandchildren (who got it). I broke down that day… THAT is a mother’s love.”
